First Cross Country Race of the season... GIBA GORGE
So i wasn't able to attend the Durbanville XCO race in Cape Town unfortunately, because I am now a varsity student which actually requires me to go to lectures! Hahahahaha... University life has been super tough, so overwhelming, with very little sleep and hardly anytime to train... I'm talking about going to bed at 12o'clock at night and waking up at 3:30 am to go train! Ridiculous i know!
Anyways after not seeing any family or cycling buddies for a month, i was now getting ready to road trip down to KZN with my wonderful parents. Eventually we arrive at Pietermaritzburg and i'm so excited. Thursday morning i went down to Giba to go ride the track... Wow and was that fun... some tricky turns and some short steep climbs making those legs feel the burn. It was also so very good seeing my awesome BMC Team as well as other good friends from Team Jeep, 360 Life, @Slab and Contego.
RACE DAY: It was raining, the course was super slippery and muddy... No "Fun in the Sun" for the day. My first race as U/23 and i was nervous! After the draining 5 laps that i raced, as a Pro-Elite rider which they categorized us under, it was all over... The support was great and the atmosphere was superb. I ended up 3rd U/23 women and 9th Pro-Elite women.
This was definitely a very good experience for me and was great getting back to the racing. I would've never been able to do it without my amazing coach Johann Wykerd, my awesome Team - Team BMC, my fabulous supporters and friends and of course my wonderful parents... Annah and Philip Vosloo. =)
I will see you all very soon at the BIG and BRAVE Sabie race this weekend coming! Train hard and be POSITIVE! =)

First Race of 2012... =) Starting off with a BIG BANG!
The first race of 2012 was absolutely spectacular...
The 8 hour Endurance Race in KZN at the very well known Cascades course in Pietermaritzburg. It was one of the best team events i have been to, with an awesome racing atmosphere, support, cheering and lots of socializing! I was of course in one of the best teams that there were... The BMC Ellsworth Girls Team which consisted of Me, Ashleigh Parker and Eszter Erdelyi and of course racing with the BMC boys team too, consisting of Jaco Pelser, Alan Hatherly and Carlo Marzoppi. The race was super fun with a total of 57 teams taking part in the 8 hour event. It was a great way to start off the racing season.
A 5km course with some amazing flowing single track, tricky tight turns and some short steep uphills to make those legs burn. The BMC Ellsworth Girls Team was on the ball, enjoyed every minute and made some of the competition sweat. Eventually after an entire day of racing and mostly competing against Team Jeep Girls, we ended the race with some real excitement, taking FIRST place in the ladies Team category.
It was a really great way to start off the racing season with my awesome Sponsors and Team mates making it even better! I definitely recommend this race for 2013...!

My 2011 December Training...
December training... Well this is always one of the best times of the year because this is where i really just EAT, SLEEP and TRAIN! And of course i do a lot of socializing too. Well my December training usually consists of me, my bicycle and my sisters (Savannah and Saffron Vosloo)of course... but 2011 has been different. December 2011 training has been fun and too exciting because I had training partners from all over South Africa. Riding with some awesome friends such as Jaco Pelser, Candice Neethling, James Reid, Shaun Silver, Slahde Seale, Ben Viljoen and Monique Silver. Some funny times were shared on the very long Sunday outrides as well as during the tough interval sessions.
Hahahaha getting some profesional help up the very steep and deadly Badplaas pass from James and Candice
And all the ducks are in a row!
A new year, a new start... 2012 Lets do this!
Well hello 2012...
A new year and so new beginnings start and new adventures are experienced.... This year is definitley going to be a challenging one, I'm going to University, I'm a U23 rider this year and I still want to race in between everything. I guess everything can only happen if you look at everything positively... I live by this one quote that says,"What you think, you right!" so if you think you can achieve, you will be able to do so.
My racing season starts off with the first SA Cup in Cape Town and I am so excited to see everyone again and to see how my base training has been working out. I hope everyone the very best for 2012, make it a brilliant year and remember to stay strong and positive during difficult times.
Just before i go i would like to leave you with something to remember throughout this year... Think about RISK and REWARD if you have to make a choice... is the risk you taking worth the reward or isn't it or is the reward worth the risk?
Have a great year*
